Company History
Pre Incorporation Top
Prior to the Company's incorporation in 1975, the senior staff collectively spent in excess of twenty years in the Computer Service Bureau industry covering all facits from Marketing, Systems Design and Implementation through to Operations. The service bureau environment provided a solid training ground by including exposure to the importance of standards, consistency and quality. With a single service bureau processing some two hundred different Clients' data using an extensive array of in house developed systems, any failure to adhere to development standards caused a dramatic erosion of operational efficiency as well as creating a maintenance nightmare which would depress profits for years into the future.

Our Formative Years Top
To ensure that bureau defficiencies were not carried into CROSS, every effort was expended in the early years to ensure standards were established and maintained. The Company started out in 1975 offering tailored systems on a Pick platform to mid range installations of from 5 to 50 user systems. From the outset we adopted a set development methodology with all programs being documented according to established standards and all application programs being based on standard base modules. These initial steps have allowed our Company to provide high standard software that is very cost effective for our Clients.

Today Top
Whilst we are still primarily supporting mid range systems, there is an increasing demand for integration with desktop computing. Furthermore, we are increasingly involved with integration of server and network solutio ns and see the future involving greater emphasis on centralised server controls with significant integration of distributed PC processing and the centralised server through a variety of networks (including the internet). Whilst our past has concentrated on Pick, in more recent times we have transferred our emphasis to Universe/AIX as our development platform and, with the release of Universe for Windows NT, are now looking towards NT as a possible future platform.
